Manhunt Underway for Gunman Who Killed Two and Wounded Two Officers

In Oklahoma, a gunman is on the run after he killed two people and wounded four others. The casualties included two police officers, police said.

The suspect was identified as Michael D. Vance, 38-year-old, of Chandler, Oklahoma. He is believed to be driving a silver 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse sedan and armed with an AK-47.

Another suspect has been arrested, according to authorities.

Emergency officials in Lincoln County said that at about 7 p.m. local time Sunday, Vance shot and wounded two officers from the town of Wellston. The officers had responded to a reported shooting.

County Sheriff Charles Dougherty said that one officer was shot in the leg and the second, in the foot.

Vance was hit more than twice as the wounded officers returned fire, Dougherty said.

According to KOCO, Vance then commandeered a patrol car and drove to a nearby mobile park. There, he stole a Lincoln Town Car from a woman and then shot at her. The woman was hurt but not taken to the hospital, KOCO said.

Authorities, later, went to the residence of Vance’s uncle in neighboring Oklahoma County. At about 11 p.m. Sunday, they discovered the bodies of two people who had been shot, the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office said.

Authorities believe Vance switched vehicles again as the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a man meeting Vance’s description driving a Mitsubishi Eclipse. Furthermore, the report said that the man shot someone at a Flying J truck stop on Interstate 40 near Sayre at around 2:38 a.m. Monday.

Suspect afflicted with infectious disease

Dougherty said that authorities have released a wanted flyer for Vance. He is described as a “heavy-set male” with a height of 5 foot 11 inches and weighs 212 pounds. The suspect has a medical condition and may attempt to spread disease, according to the flyer.

The medical condition was unclear, but sheriff’s public information officer Mark Opgrande said it is an infectious disease that can be transmitted by blood.

“It’s possible he may attempt to spread it to others if he is put in a situation where that would be possible,” Opgrande said.

Beaverton Murder-Suicide: Dad Kills His 2 Kids Before Shooting Self

On Wednesday, police responded to a call in a Beaverton apartment complex about an alleged murder suicide case. Apparently, a 36 year old father killed his six year old son and 8 year old daughter. He then committed suicide when authorities arrived on the scene.

Police received a call from a female relative around 4:30 PM. The relative stood outside the Redwood Creek Apartments at Southwest Windmill Drive and Greenway Boulevard while waiting for the police.

Upon arriving at the scene, police officers found three people believing them all dead. According to Jeremy Shaw, spokesman for the Beaverton police, the responding officers started backing up to preserve the crime scene. They then heard a racking sound of a gun’s slide then a single shot. Prior to the final gunshot, the officers said the father’s wound appeared to be fatal, hence their assumption that he was dead.

The Tactical Negotiations Team who entered the crime scene established the three deaths. Shaw did not give any reports about the children’s death but gave confirmation about the father shooting himself.

He stated that the 3 fatalities lived in the apartment along with the mother. However, she was not home when the incident happened. Shaw also said they did not know if the couple had other children or if the police department made contact with other family members.

Shaw said in a statement, “They’re in our thoughts and in our hearts. As they grieve, we grieve as a community.”

Beaverton authorities in conjunction with the Washington County Major Crimes Team are conducting the investigation. The Crimes Team rushed to the scene after hearing the call over the police radio and offered to help.

Diverse group of neighbors

Several rumors surfaced before the Beaverton police department cleared the situation.
Ashley Allen, who lived on the other side of the apartment and on her way to the gym, wondered what was happening. Neighbors told her that police found two children and a man dead in an apartment.

She said, “It’s really awful”. She moved in to Beaverton last year from Los Angeles and resided in Redwood Creek Apartment in July. She thought that moving into Oregon would  be relatively peaceful then the incident happened. According to her, before Wednesday it was fairly quiet.

She also said, “There’s an eclectic group of people who live in such a big complex,”

Herman Fanger, a neighbor of the victims, said he was stopped by a police officer as he tried to enter his apartment. He saw police cars near the vicinity as he was coming back from walking his dog. The police officer told him there was a hostage situation and asked him to stay at a distance. He lives behind the apartment where the shootings occurred.

Police eventually let Fanger return home after explaining it was safe for him to go back.
Fanger said in an interview, “It hits close to home. It’s sad, it’s pretty sad. Some people seem to make terrible choices.”

California ‘Furry’ Murder Case; Gruesome Murder Scene Details Released

On September 29, three people were murdered in the Orange County “furry” subculture community.

Investigators handling the Southern California murder case described a 911 call from a child who told the operator that their parents were dead. Responding police officers found two girls standing outside their home in Fullerton.

On Tuesday, Orange County Register court documents provided more information about the murder. The case file indicates that the police discovered three bodies – Jennifer Goodwill-Yost, 39, her husband Christopher Yost, 34, their friend Arthur “Billy” Boucher, 28 and a blood stained dog in their home.

Jennifer is an active participant in the community’s “furry” subculture. The furry subculture involves people interested in fictional anthropomorphic animal characters with human attributes. These people gathered in conventions wearing “fursuits”.

Police authorities arrested a 21 year old US Army Private, Joshua Acosta and Frank Felix, 25. Just like the victims, both have connections to the furry fandom. The Police charged them with three counts of first degree murder.

The search warrant affidavits were filed on the day of the murder and were published on Tuesday.

According to the police report, officers found two girls, aged six and nine on the front porch. Inside the house, officers found Christopher on the couch with a gunshot wound in the head. Police found Jennifer inside one of the bedrooms, also dead from the shotgun wound.

Authorities found their friend “Billy” just outside a doorway to the backyard with wounds officers mistook as trauma from a blunt object.

Blood splattered pieces of evidence

Forensic scientists gathered multiple pieces of evidence at the scene. It includes clothes, shotgun pellets, an orange backpack and swabs of blood from different areas of the house.

Furthermore, they collected blood samples from a door of a Dodge van parked in the garage and from the dog’s back.

In the in initial report, Jennifer’s 17 year old daughter, Katlynn Goodwill-Yost was missing. The teenagers social media accounts had links to the “furry” fandom as well. Police eventually found Katlynn and had taken into custody.

Police declined any statements if Katlynn had any connection with the crime. The teenager’s being a juvenile prevents the police from releasing any information. Nevertheless, they did not file a case against the teen.

Toddler’s Tragic Hot Car Death, Not ‘Planned’ Dad Says

It’s been more than 2 years since the Georgia Dad left his 22 month-old boy for several hours at the backseat of his hot car. The incident led to the child’s tragic death.

Last Monday, Cobb County, GA prosecutors alleged that Justin Ross “planned” his son’s death.

Prosecutors also said the reason why Harris intended to leave his family for perverted purposes. They stated that he wanted to focus on his various sexual relationships with other women. One of the charges against him includes texting sexually graphic messages to a teenage girl.

Also, investigators discovered that he made some various online searches mainly related to babies’ death in hot cars and how to survive imprisonment.

Harris’ lead defense attorney, Maddox Kilgore said that Harris was definitely the one responsible for his son’s death. “What you’re going to see here at this trial is that being responsible is not the same thing as being a criminal,” she added.

Mr. Harris tends to have a fixed routine every day, where he usually dropped off his son at a daycare before heading to work, but unfortunately, he forgot about his son at the backseat of his car.

Harris got very emotional, quietly crying when Kilgore described the tragic death of his son 2 years ago.

Sexual behavior not enough reason for murder

Maddox Kilgore stated: “His sexual behavior isn’t some kind of motive to murder the person he loved more than anyone in the world.”

A video flash in the trial court showing Harris reaction after he saw his son’s dead body in the backseat. The footage featured Harris walking back and forth while screaming.

The prosecution team and defense lawyers are still arguing about the evidence presented.
Meanwhile, Harris will face a life sentence if proven guilty of murdering his young son.
